President’ s Message

On behalf of the PTA, I’d like to welcome you all back to Paddock. I look forward to meeting all of the new families that are joining us this year. I’m sure you will find Stuart R. Paddock a wonderful place for your child to learn and grow.

Make the Connection
Thank you to all of the parents and staff that have already renewed their membership with the PTA. We have set our membership goals high. The Paddock PTA is trying to reach 100% membership, which means one member for each student enrolled at Paddock! Our current enrollment is over 750 students, doesn’t each one deserve your support? Your PTA membership will enhance our ability to provide educational programming, staff support and social events for every student. Remember by becoming a member of the PTA, it ensures that we can continue to advocate for our children not only at Paddock but also at a state and national level. To join today please go to www.paddockpta.org and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page.

Stay Informed
As in the past, we will continue to communicate with our members via Big Tent*. Big Tent helps the PTA cut down on excessive use of paper, lowers our printing costs and provides a faster way to distribute important information. This year you can also find us on Facebook, just search for Stuart R. Paddock. It is a quick and easy way to stay informed. The Panther Press Newsletter will be produced 6 times this year and be supplemented monthly by the new “Panther Press Update”. This one page sheet will be sent home at the beginning of each month allowing us to provide the most current information possible. It will include a 2-month calendar and provide reminders for school events. The school calendar has been eliminated for several reasons including an increasing number of families using electronic calendars and as a way to reduce our expenses. We hope these changes will provide our school community with accurate and timely information all year long.

ParTicipAte
Parental involvement is the cornerstone of our PTA. While we all lead busy lives, I encourage you to take a starring role in your child’s education. Your volunteer efforts no matter how big or small, will make a positive impact on your child’s educational experience and all Paddock students. Remember a little help from a lot of hands goes a long way. We invite and welcome new involvement and fresh ideas!

Many of you have asked me, “Why did I want to be President of the Paddock PTA”? I’d like to share my thoughts with you… I want Paddock to be an amazing educational experience for my children and yours, for our families and staff. I’m honored to be part of a dedicated group of parents and teachers who want to provide their children with more than the school district provides. The Paddock PTA provides social experiences and memories, extra educational assemblies, additional arts programming, school pride, and staff assistance. I hope you also see the value the PTA brings Paddock and will join me. Contact me anytime and I’d be happy to help you find just the right volunteer opportunity for your schedule.

Lastly, I’d like to thank the parents/guardians that have committed to work with me to make this year successful. I truly cherish the time and talents you are offering the PTA and look forward to working with each of you.

See you soon
Gina Brinckerhoff
